Joseph John Jaeger, age 73, of Cokato, died peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Brookridge Assisted Living in Cokato.
He was born Dec. 13, 1941, in St. Cloud, the son of George and Ann (Soverign) Jaeger.
Joe served in the Navy and was stationed in California. After leaving the Navy, he remained in California for many years; and spent the final months of his life at Brookridge Assisted Living in Cokato.
He was employed as a common laborer for most of his life.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors, playing pool, and looking at his National Geographic magazines. His view from his window at Brookridge overlooked the golf course, and he loved to watch the birds through his binoculars. He also loved his coffee, potato chips, and going out for tacos with Diane, his caregiver.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene Jaeger; and a sister, Patricia Benson
He is survived by his niece, Kathy McKay
Joe’s final wish was to be buried at sea off the shores of California, a place he very much cherished. A sea burial will be performed by San Diego Burial at Sea.
