Veronica Catherine Kappel, age 91, of Winsted, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Alice Nowak will be the organist. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a CCW Rosary at 4 p.m., and parish prayers at 6 p.m.
Casket bearers will be Francis Kappel, Evon Weber, Gary Seymour, Matthew Seymour, Daniel Weber, and Sydney Dondlinger.
Michelle Weber and Lisa Dondlinger are honorary casket bearers.

Veronica was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Winsted, the daughter of John and Anna (Rathmanner) Kappel.
She started teaching in a one-room schoolhouse, and eventually taught at the Winsted Public School. Her teaching career was over 30 years. She loved her students!
Veronica was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
She enjoyed dancing, gardening, animals, sewing, reading, taking walks, and visiting with people.
Veronica is survived by three nieces: Michelle Weber, Lisa Dondlinger, and Pauline Kelzer; six nephews: Gary Seymour, Gregg Seymour, Kenneth Kelzer, Raymond Kelzer, Bill Kelzer, and Chuck Kelzer; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Kappel; her sisters, Florentine (Raymond) Kelzer, Elizabeth (Sylvester) Seymour, Lorraine (Ernest) Greshowiak, and Melinda Kappel; and by a brother, Vincent Kappel.
