Daniel Francis Kelly, 63, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, with his loving family by his side.
Dan was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Grand Forks, ND, to Robert and Mary Kelly, the first of seven children.
He graduated from high school in Lester Prairie, and married his high school sweetheart, DeAnn, Dec. 2, 1972.
They lived in Mankato until 1977, when they moved to Bruce, WI. While in Bruce, they welcomed two little girls into this world.
In 1982, the family moved to Eau Claire, where Dan worked as a Realtor for Century 21 Metro.
In 1985, Dan went back to his true passion, carpentry and woodworking; building many decks, yard sheds, furniture, crafts, and remodel projects.
He and DeAnn also cherished the company of their animals over the years, including Maggie, Katy, Lady, Toby, Dixie, and all of their grandpuppies.
Dan was a great mentor to his daughters and sons-in-law, and enjoyed the company of them and their friends, remaining close to many of them over the years.
Dan was an exceptional father, husband, and friend, and He will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife, DeAnn; daughters Meghan (Jared) Ketchens, and Bridget (Sean Selz) Kelly; grandchildren Daemion, Blake, and Trystan Ketchens, and August and Astoria Kelly-Selz; sisters Patricia (Mike) O’Brien, Kathryn (Rory) Whitney, and Carolyn (Rod) Schraufnagel; brother Sean (Joan) Kelly; 15 nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Colleen; a brother, Mark; and several uncles.
A Celebration of Dan’s Life took plane Saturday, Feb. 28 at the American Legion in Eau Claire, WI from 4 to 7 p.m.
