Alfred Albert Kieser, age 83, of rural Winsted, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at his residence.
He was born June 24, 1931, in Winsted, the son of Martin and Katherine (Helmbrecht) Kieser.
Alfred honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving in Germany in the 10th Infantry Division beginning in 1952.
Alfred was joined in holy marriage with Margaret E. Gueningsman June 24, 1974 .
Alfred engaged in dairy farming on the family homestead.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, the out-of-doors, custom butchering, gardening, mushroom hunting, four wheeling, and farming.
Alfred was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. He also belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters, and American Legion Post 407.
He is survived by a step-son, Mark (Nina) Boenish of Winsted; brothers and a sister, George Kieser, Martha Rohling, Leonard (Margaret) Kieser, Joe (Janice) Kieser, Donald (MaryAnne) Kieser, and Jerry (Debbie) Kieser; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Kieser in 2002, his parents, Martin and Katherine Kieser; two sisters, Mary Entinger and Dorothy Entinger; sister-in-law Helen Kieser; and brothers-in-law Bill Rohling, Bud Entinger, and Fred Entinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, March 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.; continuing Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Casket bearers were Steve Rohling, Tom Kieser, Duane Entinger, Lucas Kloos, Mark Gueningsman, and Tony Gueningsman.
Karri Rohling and Shelly Kloos were honorary casket bearers.
