Joseph Kimball, age 95, formerly of Pequot Lakes, MN, and Apache Junction, AZ, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Delano,
He was born July 27, 1920, in Minneapolis, to Walter and Margarete (Kimball) Snodgrass.
Joe served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was married to his beloved wife, Betty Martz Aug. 29, 1944, until she passed away Dec. 12, 1976.
Joe loved his family, his music, and he loved to paint. He played drums, trombone, and trumpet in his band, well into his 80s. He also painted signs and murals all around Minnesota.
Joe spent his summers at his home in Pequot Lakes, and his winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sister Waunita; and a daughter, Sandra Nelson.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Laura and Paul Robideau of New Germany; grandchildren Sabrina (Tim) Singer-Towns and Joseph “Buddy” Robideau; and three great-grandsons, Everett, Deacon, and Finnley Singer-Towns.
Joe was laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Minneapolis, next to his wife, sister, and mother. A celebration and memorial of his life will take place spring 2016.
