Elizabeth Krienke, 81

Elizabeth Joyce Krienke, age 81, of Hutchinson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at CentraCare Health Hospital in Long Prairie.

She was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Woodland Township, Wright County, the daughter of William and Bessie (Sanford) Casey. Elizabeth was baptized as an infant.

She received her education in Howard Lake, and was a graduate of the Howard Lake High School class of 1955.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Herbert Krienke Aug. 24, 1956, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. This marriage was blessed with four children, Daniel, Donald, Brenda and Bonnie.

Elizabeth and Herbert resided in Lester Prairie, and later moved to Hutchinson. They shared 55 years of marriage until Herbert passed away Aug. 10, 2012.

After Herbert passed, Elizabeth moved to Glencoe, then later to Browerville.

Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, and a true homemaker. She worked for a sewing company based in Winsted, and a typing job at Norwood-Young America Corporation; she worked both jobs from home.

A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Elizabeth loved the church and was a woman of great faith.

She enjoyed shopping with the girls, cooking, sewing, gardening, reading, canning, picnics, bird watching, and talking to everyone, with bottomless cups of coffee and creamer. She also enjoyed watching television, especially the food channel; listening to polka music, and attending church and Bible class. She cherished the time she spent with her family, children, and grandchildren.

Elizabeth loved her family, and would do anything for them. She was always there for them – whether it was to just listen, or getting in there to lend a hand.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving family: sons Daniel Krienke of Hutchinson, and Donald Krienke and his wife, Lori of Browerville; daughters Brenda Tucholke and her husband, Joel of Lester Prairie, and Bonnie Johnson and her husband, Loren of Plato; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by a brother, Thomas Casey of Cass Lake; brother-in-law Arnold Seefeldt of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law Gladys Casey of Annandale, and JoAnn Casey of Montrose; and many other nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Herbert, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Casey; a granddaughter, Jessica Johnson; brothers Patrick Casey, Michael Casey, and Joseph Casey; sisters Mary Klugow and her husband Eldon “Don,” and Margaret Seefeldt; and sister-in-law, Hazel Casey.

Memorial services took place Friday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with interment in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Nelson officiated at the services. Jane Holasek was the organist. Congregational hymns were “O Holy Night,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Jesus Lead Thou On,” and “In The Garden.”

Arrangements were with the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson. Online obituaries and guest book are available at www.hantge.com; click on Obituaries/Guest Book.
