Anna J. Kruzel Obituary – 9/24/2015


Anna J. Kruzel, age 97, of Waconia, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at the Lighthouse in Waconia.

She was born June 19, 1918, in Delano, the daughter of Andrew and Frances (Mross) Buehl. Anna was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delano.

She was united in marriage to Roman Kruzel May 1, 1935, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delano, by Father Yany.

Anna worked at Tonka Toys for 30 years. She had a green thumb, and brought many plants back to life.

The most important part of her life was spending time with her family, raising her 13 children.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Roman; son Gordon Kruzel; daughter Janice Bakka; granddaughter Susan Harris; and brothers George, Leonard, and Clarence Buehl.

She is survived by her loving family: children Mary Riggs of Milaca, Caroline Klepperich of Backus, Phyllis (Frank) Klepperich of Walker, Robert (Barb) Kruzel of Norwood Young America, Ann (Vince) Herd of Mayer, James (Laura) Kruzel of Sealy, TX, Margie (Kevin) Hoen of Cologne, Mark (Kim) Kruzel of Buffalo, Kenneth (Roxanne) Kruzel of Belle Plaine, Roman Jr. (Jenie) Kruzel of Howard Lake, and Judith (Daniel) Kranz of Green Isle; daughter-in-law Margaret Kruzel; son-in-law Kenneth Bakka; 32 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lorraine Buehl of Buffalo; brother-in-law George Kruzel; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia, with Fr. Bennet Tran as celebrant of the Mass. Interment was in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waconia.

There was visitation Monday, Sept. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia; and continuing Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the Mass.

Casket bearers were Willard Rancour, Andrew Herd, Bruce Kranz, Bob Kranz, Brian Hoen, and Tom Kruzel.
