Elmerine I. Laxen Obituary – 5/18/2015


Elmerine I. Laxen, age 86, of Winsted, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher will be the Celebrant. Reader for the Mass will be Nathan Schlagel. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

There will be visitation Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.

Casket bearers will be Bernard Laxen, Stephen Millerbernd, Noel Guggemos, Brandon Schlagel, Brad Schlagel, and Mike Laxen.

Elmerine was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Winsted Township, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Sagstetter) Laxen.

She was formerly employed at Green Giant, Tonka Toys, Mid-Am, Holy Trinity Schools, and at Millerbernd Manufacturing for 25 years.

Elmerine was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church all of her life.

She is survived by a brother, Leo (Rita) Laxen of Winsted; a sister, Marilyn (Leon) Kegler of Babbit; nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Elmerine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Edward Laxen and Art Laxen; and by two sisters, Sally Millerbernd and Mixie Schlagel.
