Gene R. “Geno” Neddermeyer, age 75, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, the way he wanted to go with his four boys holding his hand at home, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Geno will be remembered for his many stories, and love of cards, the outdoors, and music.
He retired at the age of 70 after 26 years with The Sun Newspaper, and 24 years with Midland Nursery.
Geno was preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Bud” and Marguerite (Sawyer); infant son Arthur; granddaughter Emmy; and sister Karen Rath.
He is survived by sons Steve (Diane), Rich (Theresa), Greg, and Mike (Sheri); seven grandchildren; and a brother, Neil (Julie).
A memorial gathering took place Friday, Nov. 27 from 3 to 6 p.m., with a 6 p.m. sharing of memories, at the Delano American Legion in Delano. Inurnment was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
