Marian Nyquist, age 102, of Richfield, formerly of Cokato, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at her home.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at Elim Mission Church in Cokato.
Marian was born May 18, 1913, to Lewis and Anna (Peterson) Nyholm. She grew up on the north side of Minneapolis, and was employed by Wilkenson Home Finance.
Marian married Courtney Nyquist in 1944, and joined him in farming near Cokato, where they raised four children.
Marian was employed by the State Bank of Cokato for 18 years.
She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marian was a member of Lamson Free Church and Elim Mission Church in Cokato. After retirement, Marian and Courtney resided in Sun City, AZ, where they were members of Desert Hills Free Church.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Courtney; brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence and Ruth Nyholm, Delbert and Lillian Nyholm, Ed and Dale Nyholm, and Wesley Nyholm; and granddaughter-in-law Krista Stock.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Dan (Louise) Nyquist of Washington, DC; daughters Barbara (David) Cue of Richfield, Joyce (Joe) Simon of Brainerd, and Sharon Stock of Morris; sister-in-law Olive Bates of Sun City, AZ; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
