Linus “Len” Remer, age 89, of Maple Grove, formerly of Lester Prairie, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015.
He was born March 6, 1926, in Lester Prairie, the son of Frank S. and Kathryn (Lachermeier) Remer Sr.
Len honorably served in the US Army.
He married Lorena Dalchow Aug. 1, 1945, at the Holy Trinity Rectory in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children.
Len formerly owned and operated Lawn King, and was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Corcoran. He was also a lifetime member of the Hamel VFW, and belonged to the Hanover Seniors.
Len is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lorena Remer; children Gary (Peggy) Remer, Linda (Paul) Honl, David (Marilyn) Remer, Wayne (Kathy) Remer, Mark (Lois) Remer and Shelly (Art) Gonshorowski; nine grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Magdalen Campbell; a brother, Ralph (Sylvia) Remer; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Corcoran, with Father John A. Gallas as the celebrant. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
There was visitation Friday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville Funeral Home; and visitation continued one hour prior to Mass at the church Saturday.
Casket bearers were Mike Honl, Tim Honl, Brian Remer, Jesse Gavin, Tom Remer, and Jim Johnson.
