Mary Richardson Obituary – 1/23/2015


Mary Anna (Ohlgren) Richardson, age 70, of El Paso, TX, formerly of Minneapolis and Cokato, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, from complications of MS.

Mary was born Nov. 1, 1944, at Litchfield Hospital, to the late Dr. H.A. and Lilja Ohlgren; and was a 1962 graduate of Cokato High School.

She continued her education, graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in English, and from the University of Southern California with amaster’s degree in library science.

In May of 1977, she married Ryden Richardson Jr.

Mary loved to travel, sing in the church choir with her husband, Ryden; watch “NCIS,” and cuddle withher beloved cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Martin Koivula.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ryden; siblings Leslie (Shirley) Koivula of Tryon, NC, Richard (Sandra) Ohlgren of Albuquerque, NM, and Faye (Ken) LeDoux of Minneapolis; sister-in-law Elsie Koivula of Cokato; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family in Finland, and her beloved cats.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at at Ascension Lutheran Church in El Paso, TX.
