Arlene R. “Arnie” Schroeder, age 69, of Waconia, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
She was born Feb. 10, 1945, in Watertown, to George and Mary (Farniok) Motzko.
Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She loved to spend time with her family, cook and bake, and collect anything, including antiques, tea cups and sugar bowls, knickknacks, state quarters, movies, Precious Moments, and M&M memorabilia.
Arlene liked to cook for the regulars at DaBoars in Cologne, and was active with the VFW in Waconia, and Victoria Lions over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Motzko; sister Georgia Blackketter; and grandchildren Amanda Kasheimer and infant Tyler Kasheimer.
Arlene is survived by her children, Howard (Nancy) Kasheimer, Jr., James (Gabriele) Kasheimer, Sheila Droneck, Tim Schroeder and Scott (Holly) Schroeder; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Tom (Kathy) Motzko, Ralph “Butch” (Kim) Motzko, Susie (Arnie) Lauer, Steve Motzko, Theresa (Pete) Schendel, George (Sandy) Motzko, Jr. and Angie Motzko.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and continued Thursday at the church from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
