Kenneth J. Thomas, age 82, of Delano, passed peacefully Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015.
He was born May 16, 1932, in Medina, to Jacob and Anna (Schuler) Thomas.
Kenny served in the Army, being honorably discharged in 1955.
He liked to fish, hunt, and spend time in the outdoors; and was a daily frequenter of the coffee clutch at Coborn’s in Delano.
A true people person, Kenny loved to spend time with children, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a great story teller and was known for tooling around in his golf cart and giving rides to anyone who would take him up on it. He loved his dogs, especially “Little Boy” and “Tougher I and II.”
Kenny was a unique and gentle soul, and he was loved deeply by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Anna Thomas; and brothers Jacob Thomas and Norman Thomas.
Kenny is survived by his siblings, Mary Ann (Russel) Bouley and Carl Thomas; nieces and nephews: Steve (Bess) Bouley, Kurt (Sandy) Bouley, Brenda (Steve) Sallstrom, Amy Thomas, Paula (Gary) Guennigsman, Jake (Linda) Thomas, Dave (Joanie) Thomas, Patty (Porsche) Chandler, Kathy (Bill) Bogart, Mike (Barb) Chandler, Chris (Jill) Thomas, Andrea (Kevin) Dietrich, and Mary Jo (Darin) Braun; as well as many cousins, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano; with visitation from 9 to 11:25 a.m. at Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, prior to the Mass. Interment with military honors took place at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Loretto.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
