Lifelong Howard Lake resident and businessman, Orville Warnke, age 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Howard Lake.
Born April 17, 1921, Orville lived all of his life just south of Howard Lake, where he bought and sold work horses in his youth, and dairy cattle in his heyday.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; sons Wayne and Craig; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Orville lived a full and long life and witnessed many amazing changes during his lifetime, from the Model T vehicle, to space travel and walks on the moon.
He learned to wheel-and-deal from his father at an early age, and used this skill to successfully create a business buying and selling dairy cattle.
Orville loved horses from his youth, and became active in the quarter horse community, showing horses around the country. He never ventured far from his love of horses and the western lifestyle, with his cowboy hat ever present, even in his declining years.
Family plans a private burial.
