Theresa Frances Borka, age 63, of rural Hutchinson, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant.
There was visitation Sunday, Feb. 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, with a CCW Rosary at 4 p.m., and parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Monday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are with the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake.
Theresa was born May 11, 1952, in Shakopee, the daughter of Wilbert and Frances (Schindler) Buesgens.
She was joined in holy marriage with Robert J. Borka May 8, 1971, at St. Joseph’s Church in Waconia. God blessed their marriage with three sons.
Theresa and Bob engaged in dairy farming in Hutchinson Township, McLeod County for many years.
Theresa formerly was employed at The Prairie House, Hutchinson Sale Barn, Silver Lake Hatchery, Plato Woodworking, and at 3M.
She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and its CCW; and also belonged to The Knitting Club.
Theresa loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, especially those that used thread.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Borka; sons Darrel (Jackie) Borka, Tony (Kim) Borka, all of Hutchinson, and Jay (Julene) Borka of Winsted; and grandchildren Alyssa, Grace and Addison; and Riley and Chloe.
Theresa is sisters and brothers, “Toots” (Guy) Johnson, Chris (Roger) Borka, all of Waconia, Ken (Deb) Buesgens of Cologne, Dan Buesgens of Slayton, Jim (Teresa) Buesgens of Cologne, and Paul Buesgens and Mark (Michelle) Kopp, all of Waconia; step brothers and step sisters; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
