Kathryn Briggs (Jensen), age 92, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at her Spring Park home.
She was a perennial honor role student in high school at Jackson, MN, and graduated as a registered nurse from Ancker Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul.
Kathryn married Alfred “Skip” Briggs Aug. 2, 1943, and they had three children. The family settled in Fairmont, where Kathryn practiced nursing, and Briggs was a barber.
Years after Briggs passed away, Kathryn married Richard Porisch, of Mountain Lake. Porisch died one year later, and Kathryn eventually married Everett Pearson of South Dakota. Widowed again, she retired to Carrollton, TX, and returned to Minnesota in 2006.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and a granddaughter, Kapra Quain.
She is survived by her three children, David (Dorothy) Briggs, Mary Briggs (Richard) Quain, and Stephen Briggs; grandchildren Paul Briggs (Jennifer), Amy Briggs Thompson (Ryan), and Kelly (Trinh) Quain; and great-grandchildren Sandra Jackson, Vinh and Vi Quain.
Visitation took place Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. There was private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Memorials preferred to St. Catherine University Nursing Program scholarship fund.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home, Delano.
