Betty C. Callery, age 94, of Buffalo, formerly of Delano and Boone, IA, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, in the adult foster care home in which she resided.
Betty was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Monroe, WI, to Edwin R. Booth and Irene (Geiger) Booth.
She graduated from Monroe High School in 1939. She left Monroe, spent time in Freeport, IL and met her husband Charles Callery in Webster City, IA. They were united in marriage Feb. 20 1954, in Cedar Falls, IA; and resided in Boone, IA for more than 50 years.
Betty worked for KWBG radio station in Boone for many years, and managed an apartment building complex well into her 80s.
She loved animals, and always had a cat by her side. Betty enjoyed visits to Fall Harvest Orchard to pet and hold all of the animals, and there were also several dogs at her home to keep her company.
Betty is survived by two nephews: Greg (Terri) Booth of Loretto, and Thom (Cindy) Booth of Marysville, WA; niece-in-law Sherry (Augsburg) Booth of Monroe, WI; as well as great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Edwin R. Booth, Jr.; and nephew Jeffrey J. Booth.
Funeral services are pending. Interment will be in Monroe, WI at a later date.
