Teresa Jean (Block) Eckelberry, 59, of South Haven, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, with her family by her side, after a battle with cancer.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Annandale.
Teresa was born in St. Paul, to Alfred and Elizabeth Block.
She married Bill Eckelberry in 1983, and had three children: Paul (1985), Naomi (1986), and Issac (1992).
An intelligent and talented person, Teresa could succeed in any career she chose. She ran a cleaning and sewing business, but what she loved most was being a wife and mother.
A very skilled seamstress, Teresa made many clothes for friends and family; not to mention many wedding dresses and hand-knit baby clothes that she was well-known for. She was also an excellent cook, gardener, and an avid reader.
Deeply spiritual, Teresa had a great understanding of the Bible and Bible history, and loved to talk in-depth about it every chance she got.
She was a giving, patient, and kind person, always positive; and she faced her illness with great courage and dignity. Teresa was deeply loved by her family, and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janice Cammack; and a son, Paul Eckelberry.
