Eleanor Fiecke, 88

Eleanor Emma Fiecke, age 88, of Buffalo, and formerly of Winsted, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

She was born June 19, 1927, in Silver Lake, the daughter of Peter and Peggy (Pawlicki) Lewandowski.

Eleanor E. Lewandowski and Henry J. Fiecke were joined in holy marriage Oct. 3, 1944, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Eleanor worked for many years at Tonka Toys as an assembler. She also worked at Green Giant, and at the Edco Sewing Factory.

She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, playing cards, camping, traveling, fishing and sewing.

Eleanor was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. She also belonged to The Winsted American Legion Post 407 Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children: Rita (Bob) Lindquist of Sauk Rapids, Jerry (Nancy) Fiecke of Watertown, Diane (Joe) Bokusky of Buffalo, and David Fiecke of Dassel; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Fiecke; a son, Robert; a grandson, John Fiecke; and by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.; and continued Friday morning, Jan. 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Brian Ardolf, Cory Fiecke, Jeremy Bokusky, Emma Maas, Hannah Ennis, and Sawyer Bokusky.
