Georgia Marie Gerard-Snicker, age 93, of Delano, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, March 29 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. There will be visitation will from 10 to 11:30 a.m., prior to Mass, in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano.
Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Georgia was born May 8, 1922, in Rockford, to Louis and Julia (Wilcek) Ludescher.
She was a graduate of Delano High School, and a member of the Delano American Legion Auxiliary, St. Anne Society, Catholic Aid, and St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Georgia was a longtime cook at the Delano High School.
She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, attending church festivals, and tending her garden. Georgia was an accomplished cook, who loved steak frys and family reunions. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Gerard, and Sylvester Snicker; parents Louis and Julia Ludescher; and siblings Florence Pillatzki, Dorothy Stave, Connie Janikula and Roman Ludescher.
She is survived by her children, Carol Gallus, Joyce (Chuck) Sandquist, Joanne (Tom) Winjum, and John (Catherine) Gerard; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and special friend Ken Ernsti.
