Dollrus “Dolly” Adeline Grangroth, age 92, of Waverly, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Waverly, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Lambert) Jewett.
Dolly and Howard Clyde Irving Grangroth, Sr. were joined in holy marriage May 19, 1942, in Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with 10 children.
Dolly cleaned houses in the cities for many years, until her retirement. She was a hard worker at home, tending to the yard, her garden and house plants, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed music, time spent at the cabin, and time spent with her family.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Grangroth; daughter, Rose Marie Mosch; son, Leonard Wayne Grangroth; grandson, Joseph Grangroth; son-in-law, Simon Schotl; parents, Henry and Rose Jewett; and siblings, Veretta Jewett, Iona Jewett, Wesley (Clara) Jewett, and Vernon “Sonny” (Carol) Jewett.
She is survived by her children, Ruby (Don) Pfau of Mesa, AZ, Howard (Susan) Grangroth Jr., Harlan (Yvonne) Grangroth, all of Waverly, Mary Ann (Guy) Stitt of Bremerton, WA, Betsy Schotl of St. Cloud, Rick Grangroth, Ronnie (Cindy) Grangroth, all of Waverly, and Joni Decker of Howard Lake; son-in-law Dick Mosch of Erhard; daughter-in-law Diane Grangroth of Howard Lake; 35 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; siblings Daisy Russ of Marietta, and Totten Jewett of Buffalo; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Funeral services took place Monday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jacob Van Pernis officiating. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.
Casket bearers were Ronnie Grangroth Jr., Sam Neumann, Jake Decker, Pat Grangroth, Donald Grangroth, and Dan Mosch.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Stitt, Cheryl Ferreira, and April Westermann.
Arrangements were with the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
