James Lee Herzog, age 84, of Delano, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter’s, prior to Mass. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 8:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Delano.
Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
James was born June 30, 1931, in Owatonna, to Max and Elsie (Oberle) Herzog.
He was a lifelong sales rep for O’Bryan Bros, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus since 1951.
Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was group leader for pilgrims to Medjugorje for 15-plus years.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine (Mallak) “Bernie;” and a daughter-in-law, Karla Herzog.
He is survived by his children: Jim Herzog, John Herzog, Joe (Connie) Herzog, Julie (CJ) Gonsior, Jacquie Burr, and Judie (Bob) Crawford; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Herzog; as well as many relatives and friends.
