Anna Marie Johnson, age 92, of Maple Plain, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016.
She was born Oct. 8, 1923, to Harold and Ellen Flodin Johnson of Dassel Township.
Anna Marie was baptized April 20, 1924, and confirmed at the Dassel Covenant Church June 5, 1938.
She attended grade school in Dassel, and graduated from the Dassel High School in 1941. In 1946, she graduated from the Miss Woodi Kindergarten and Primary Training School in Minneapolis.
Miss Johnson taught at Buffalo Lake, Cokato, and Benson schools.
In 1953, she joined the First Bank System in Minneapolis and was employed at First Minnehaha Bank for 27 years.
Taking early retirement from the bank, she was employed at the Dayton Hudson Company for seven years, retiring in 1987.
In March 1990, she moved to the Elim Shores Retirement Community in Eden Prairie, where she enjoyed being employed in the office part time.
Eventually, Anna Marie moved to Haven Homes in Maple Plain, where she passed away.
Anna Marie is a member of the Prairie Hill Evangelical Free Church of Eden Prairie. She is a former member of the Dassel Covenant Church, First Free Church of Minneapolis, and the American Swedish Institute.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidering, and singing with the Elim Belles of Elim Shores.
Anna Marie is survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Dorothy Bloomquist; and brother-in-law Harry Bloomquist.
A private graveside service took place at the Dassel Community Cemetery.
