Ruth Vivian Johnson, age 87, longtime resident of Rockford, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016.
She was born July 14, 1929, to Joel and Emma Nelson of Litchfield, and was baptized and confirmed at Beckville Lutheran Church.
In 1951, Ruth graduated from the University of Minnesota, and worked in Minneapolis as a dental hygienist for several years.
She married Miles Aga Johnson of Minneapolis in 1957.
Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Emma; and her husband, Miles.
She is survived by two sons, Dane of Minneapolis, and Tim of Rockford; daughter Melissa and husband Wayne Kalal of Eden Prairie; step-grandchildren Mason, Megan, and Madison; as well as many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services took place Saturday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford, where she was a charter member. Inurnment was at Beckville Lutheran Church Cemetery near Litchfield.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
