Warren Walter Kern, age 66, of Howard Lake, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 15, 1950, in Glencoe, the son of Edward and Lenora (Wirth) Kern.
Warren was formerly employed as a production worker at Mid-Am Creamery. He later became a home health aide, as he always wanted to help people.
He enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Warren is survived by a daughter, Cari (Paul) Gaines of Hutchinson; sons Chris Kern of Cokato, and Charlie Kern (Susan Burda) of Litchfield; grandchildren Justin, Darrin (Katie), Brandon, and Alex Bebo, and Nick and Zach Kern; a brother, Waldemar “Pete” (Gretta) Kern of Waverly; sisters Beatrice (Donald) Zellmann of Arlington, and Barbara Smith of Howard Lake; and other relatives and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Wallace E. Kern.
A memorial service took place Friday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. at Harvest Community Church in Lester Prairie with Pastors Tom Starkjohn and Jon Wall will officiating. Pianist for the service was Darryl Minkin.
There was visitation at the church a half hour prior to the services.
