Vernadine Kramer, age 95, of Hill City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at Lamson Evangelical Free Church in Dassel. There will be a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m., prior to the memorial service, at the church. Memorials may be directed to: PO Box 208 Remer, MN 56672
Vernadine was born July 23, 1921, in Alexander, IA, to Cornelius and Joanna (Sporra) Johnson.
She was united in marriage to Louis Kramer Sept. 23, 1944. The couple lived in several locations in Iowa, before moving to Dassel, where they purchased a resort which they re-named Kramer’s.
During this time, Vernadine worked at Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home in the housekeeping department. She retired from both places after selling the resort in 2003.
Vernadine enjoyed planting flowers, as well as her job at the nursing home. She also liked to take long drives through the countryside.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; and siblings, Johnny and Virgil Johnson, Irene Markum, Jenny Isaacson and Merlin and Roman Johnson.
Vernadine is survived by her children, Deb (Kim) Kramer-Isaacson, Lou Allen Kramer, and Gregory (Deborah) Kramer; grandchildren Matt and Jake Kramer, Kathy Cook, and Heather, James and Steven Kramer; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many extended family members and friends.
