Roger Duane Krause, age 78, of Cokato passed away April 10, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Delano, MN.
He was born Nov. 13, 1937 at Ivanhoe, MN to Leo and Dorothy Krause. Roger graduated from Ivanhoe Public Schools in 1955. He was a three time letter winner in football, basketball, baseball, and track.
Roger graduated from Winona State College in 1960 with a degree in elementary education. He began his teaching career in Spring Valley and later at Cokato Elementary, where he retired in 1993.
Roger was one of the original members of the DC Saints baseball team. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds.
Roger loved his grandchildren and took great pride in all of their achievements.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Claire, sons, Rick (Katie), Rob, Mark (Julie), daughter, Sharon (John) Puchalski, grandchildren, Kellen Krause, Kelsey Krause, Makenzie Krause, Miranda Krause, Brock Puchalski, and sister, Norma (Bob) Chaput.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry, and sister, Brenda Andries.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato, and continue 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the gathering area at church.
