Judithe A. Kutzke, 78

Judithe A. “Judy” Kutzke, age 78, of Mayer, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

She was born May 1, 1938, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Roy and Lucille (Mahoney) Spaulding. Judithe was baptized at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis, and confirmed in 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.

She was united in marriage to Darrel G. Kutzke Aug. 27, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by Rev. Riedel.

Judy was a very social person, visiting with anyone she came in contact with. She had a love for gardening, and tending to her flowers made her cheerful.

Judy liked to play cribbage and 500 with family and friends. One of her favorite activities was traveling to different places with Chuck Thiel.

Judy worked at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia for over 30 years, and continued to volunteer until 2012.

Judithe was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Kutzke; grandson Andrew Kutzke; son-in-law John Latour; parents Roy and Lucille Spaulding; and brothers Barry Spaulding and Garry Spaulding.

She is survived by her loving family: sons Dale (Linda) Kutzke of Mayer, Dean (Shari) Kutzke of Norwood Young America; daughter Dawn Kutzke and friend Cindy of Lester Prairie; daughter Anna Ryan of South Haven; son Rollin (Karin) Ryan of California; grandchildren Jennifer (James) Reimer, Ryan Kutzke, Kayla Kutzke, Danielle (Jason) Luke, and Chenin Ryan; and great-grandchildren Gavin Reimer and Landon Reimer.

Judy is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Georgia Spaulding of Navarre, Darla (Robert) Diethelm of Victoria, Lynette (Ken) Templin of Faribault, Wayne (Linda) Kutzke of Coon Rapids, and Mardell Kutzke of Moose Lake; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service took place Monday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer with the Revs. Lucas Woodford and Adam Gless officiating. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.

There was visitation Sunday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.; and at the church Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers were Ryan Kutzke, James Reimer, Kegan Spaulding, Rick Hoppe, Mike Hoppe, Jason Luke, and Tim Kieser.

Christy Spaulding was honorary casket bearer.
