Florence LaVonne Lemmerman, age 94, of Lyndale, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at her home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1921, at the family home in Lyndale, the daughter of Ira and Annie (Johnson) Nolan.
Florence was united in marriage to Alfred F. Lemmerman May 29, 1953, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Florence enjoyed painting in her free time, and became quite an artist. She had a natural gift for decorating.
Florence was a well-known independent caterer, serving the Lake Minnetonka area. One of her favorite things to do was watch the cooking channels on TV.
Her travels took her from the East Coast to as far as Hawaii and Europe.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred: parents Ira and Annie Nolan; son Grant Flategraff; daughter-in-law Keri Jo Lemmerman; brother Clyde Nolan; and sister Ivanette Nolan.
She is survived by her loving family: children Nancy Crellin of Independence, Nona (John) Griffith of Carlsbad, CA, Faye Mike (Jim Mike) of Lester Prairie, and Glen Lemmerman of Independence; grandchildren Lisa (Scott) Clark, Dena (Todd) Calbert, Troy (Chris) Crellin, J. Wesley (Shannon) Griffith, Tyler (Stacia) Griffith, Christopher (Molly) Mike, Ron (Nicole) Lemmerman, and Kevin Lemmerman; great-grandchildren Ryan (Renaye) Gilbert, David (Chrissy) Gilbert, Madison Calbert, Mason Calbert, Sam Okabe, Jordan Crellin, Tristan Dornbuch, Cooper Griffith, Spenser Griffith, Piper Griffith, Elizabeth Mike, Beau Mike, Olivia Lemmerman, and Carter Lemmerman; and great-great-granddaughter Corra Gilbert.
Florence is further survived by nieces and nephews Beverly Silbermann, Michael Carlson, Larry Carlson, Renee Benson, and Cindy Atwell; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Thursday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Bill Kirmsse officiating. There was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers were John Griffith, Ronald Lemmerman, Kevin Lemmerman, Christopher Mike, Jim Mike, and Michael Carlson.
Honorary casket bearers were Mason Calbert, Troy Crellin, Ryan Gilbert, David Gilbert, J. Wesley Griffith, Tyler Griffith, and Sam Okabe.
