Adeline Lindstrom, 102

Adeline Anna Lina Ogitzak Lindstrom, age 102, of Cokato, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Cokato Manor.

A celebration of Adeline’s life will take place Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at Stockholm Lutheran Church. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Adeline was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Camden Township, Carver County, to Samuel and Anna Zuehl Ogitzak.

She was baptized Oct. 5, 1913, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hollywood, MN; and confirmed June 12, 1927, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glencoe.

She attended public school in Rich Valley, McLeod County.

Adeline married Arthur Lindstrom Jan. 5, 1938, in Lester Prairie, and the couple farmed for 40 years in the Lamson and Stockholm areas. They retired in 1969, and moved into Cokato.

Adeline moved into the Cokato Apartments Bldg. 1 following the tornado in 1992, and subsequently moved to Brookridge assisted living in 2012. She became a resident of the Cokato Manor Jan. 31 of this year.

Adeline was an active member of Stockholm Lutheran Church since 1947.

She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, especially flowers; canning, playing cards, quilting, and making pickles. She did all of these well into her 90s, and made cookies, dill pickles, jam and jellies at 101.

Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, Art in 1976; her parents; three sisters; three brothers; a son-in-law; and a nephew.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Wenlund and Jan Olson; a son, James and wife Darleen; six grandchildren: Geri (John) Olson, Greg (Lisa) Wenlund, Jeffrey (Laura) Lindstrom, Sara Lindstrom, Michael (Sandy) Olson, and Kristin Olson; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
