Delphine Cecelia (Millerbernd) Mallak, age 97, of Silver Lake, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.
She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Winsted, the daughter of Joseph and Rosalia (Fasching) Millerbernd. Delphine grew up and went to school in Winsted, and was the second youngest of 12 children.
She was united in marriage to Ernest Mallak, and the couple made their home on a dairy farm in Hale Township.
After Ernest’s death in 2006, Delphine moved into Ethel’s on the Lake in Silver Lake. While living there, she continued her passion of baking, especially kolaches.
In 2014, she became a resident of Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, followed by interment at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake.
There was visitation Sunday, Jan. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake; and visitation will continue Monday, Jan. 18 from 9-10 a.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home of Silver Lake, which handled the arrangements.
