Teresa Patricia McGrath, age 83, of Montrose, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at her home, with her husband and daughter by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, with visitation at the church from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the Mass. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are with Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
Teresa was born Oct. 2, 1932, in Sligo, Ireland, to Martin and Anne (Kells) Byrne.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Teresa and her husband, Jim, were longtime farmers in the Woodland Township area; running the McGrath farmstead, which has been in existence since 1869.
Teresa had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cats, dogs, and cows.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, James; daughter Colleen Byrne; son Martin Novak; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Monica Niknot and Annie Gonzalez; sister-in-law Kathleen (Glenn) Johnson; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
