Janice D. Mosher Obituary – 12/12/2016


Janice Dian Mosher, age 76, of Minneapolis, formerly of Buffalo, went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at the Augustana Home Care in Minneapolis, after a long struggle with cancer.

She was born July 22, 1940, in the family log home in Buffalo, the daughter of Fred and Evelyn (Hoffman) Mosher. Janice was baptized and confirmed at Buffalo United Methodist Church.

Janice grew up on the family farm in Rockford Township.She attended country school through eighth grade, and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1958.

She worked as a secretary at the Buffalo High School, as a waitress at the Country Kitchen in Buffalo, and as a nanny.

Janice enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and dolls, roller skating, music, church services, having coffee, and shopping. She was very thoughtful of others, and was very giving to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Mosher; grandparents Fred Augustus and Alvina Augusta (Meyer) Mosher, and Richard and Paula (Sige) Hoffman; one niece; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.

Janice is survived by her siblings, Sharon (Hubert) Vassar of Hopkins MN, Marilyn (Robert) Beck, Lyle Mosher, all of Buffalo, Kathleen (Larry) Kautz of Cokato, Fred (Sandra) Mosher, and Pamela (Steven) Des Marais, all of Buffalo; 25 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Laura Niesen; uncle, Ronald (June) Hoffman; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service took place Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Buffalo United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Reinhart officiating. There was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial was held later at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
