Dixie Jean Neswick, age 60, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016.
She was born April 18, 1955, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Wendell and Goldie Mae (Chapman) Borcherding.
Dixie attended East Middle School and East High School in Sioux City, IA. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Immaculate Conception Church in Sioux City.
Dixie and Martin Neswick were united in holy marriage April 27, 1974, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City. The couple was blessed with three children.
The family moved to Minnesota in 2003.
Dixie enjoyed going to the casino, baking, Dr. Pepper, being a loyal fan of “Days of Our Lives” reconnecting with friends and family on Facebook, and listening to country music. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Goldie Borcherding; and nephew, Chad Hutzell.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Martin of Monticello; children, Jeff (Kiersten) and their children Jake and Leo of Springfield, IL, Amanda (Nathan) Severson and their children Carter and Lauren of Buffalo, and Andrea Neswick (Jake Sluss) of Howard Lake; sisters Linda (Gordon) Halfrich of Sioux City, IA, Kathy (Eleazar) Martinez of South Sioux City, NE, and Debbie (Dale) Frisch of Apple Valley; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service took place Saturday, April 2 at 3 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
