Tia Joy Nustad, age 33, of Watertown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, as a result of a tragic house fire, in which her two children also lost their lives.
A Service of Remembrance is planned Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. at Cloverfield Marketplace Apartments Commons Room, 2915 Clover Ridge Dr, Chaska.Friends and family will gather there from 2 to 5 p.m.
Arrangements are with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
Tia was born Nov. 3, 1982, in Minneapolis, to Steve and Cynthia (Hanson) Nustad.
She attended Watertown High School.
Tia was a loving mother of two beautiful children, Tyler, age 11; and Layla, age 3.
She attended the Evangelical Free Church of Watertown.
Tia loved to be surrounded by friends and family, especially her children the loves of her life. She loved to laugh, listen to music, and enjoy the great outdoors, as well as spending time with her twin sister, Tawny.
She is survived by her father, Steve (Pat) Nustad of Owatonna; mother Cynthia Nustad of Chaska; and twin sister Tawny Nustad of Wisconsin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her children, Tia was preceded in death by her grandparents; and half-brother Nathan Nustad.
A memorial service also took place Friday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Free Church of Watertown; with a gathering of family and friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. Pastor Dan Osborn officiated at the memorial service.
