Dorothy May Olson, age 91, of rural Watkins, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
Funeral services will take place Monday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at the Ostmark Lutheran Church in rural Watkins. There was visitation Sunday, May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, and will continue Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Ostmark Lutheran Cemetery.

Dorothy was born Oct. 18, 1924, in rural Dassel, the daughter of Carl and Olive (Larson) Reed.
She attended grade school in rural District 6 in Kingston Township, and graduated from Dassel High School in 1943.
Dorothy worked in Minneapolis for a short time, before moving to Washington state to work for Boeing.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Arnold C. Olson Feb. 10, 1945. The couple made their home in rural Watkins.
An active member of the Ostmark Lutheran Church, Dorothy enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, camping, and visiting with friends. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gary (and Donna) Olson of Litchfield, Orlin Olson of Watkins, Steven (and Paige) Olson of Litchfield, and Gayle (and Jim) Barka of Mora; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (and Glenn) Rosenow of Grove City; brother Allen (and Rosanna) Reed of Litchfield; sister-in-law Barbara Reed of Cokato; and nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold; brothers Kenneth, Hubert, Roy and Carl; and sister Elaine.
