Diane K. Pawelk, 73

Diane K. Pawelk, age 73, of Lester Prairie, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at her home.

Her funeral service will be Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Interment will be at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hamburg.

There was visitation Sunday May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue Monday one hour prior to the service.

A luncheon and dessert at the Hamburg Lions Park will be provided by the family immediately following the burial.

Casket bearers are Elizabeth Pawelk, Faith Pawelk, Nate Pawelk, Christian Mocchi, Ethan Mocchi, Gabby Mocchi, Mark Heuer, and Tom Heuer.

Diane was born April 4, 1943, in Waconia, the daughter of Frederick and Hildegard (Bergmann) Bentz. She was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg.

Diane was united in marriage to Jerry Pawelk Jan. 6, 1962, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg.

Diane was heavily involved in running their small business and in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was also active in the church, being the church secretary for a few years and a member of the LWML.

Diane volunteered for various organizations including the local bloodmobile and Ridgeview Foundation Golf Benefit.

She loved spending time at the lake, and was her grandchildren’s biggest sports fan.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hildegard Bentz; and brothers-in-law Buddy Heuer and Warren Pawelk.

She is survived by her loving family: husband Jerry; children Fred Pawelk of Lester Prairie, and Francine (Rick) Mocchi of Champlin; grandchildren Elizabeth Pawelk, Faith Pawelk, Nate Pawelk, Christian (Susan) Mocchi, Ethan Mocchi, and Gabby Mocchi; sister Myra Heuer of Norwood Young America; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Deanna (Curtis) Wolter of Norwood Young America, and Bruce (Colleen) Pawelk of Norwood Young America; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
