Laura Mae Rademacher, age 83, of Waconia, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born April 10, 1933, in St. Bonifacius, the daughter of Anthony Sr. and Rosella (Thesing) Weinzierl. Laura Mae was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius.
Laura Mae and Norbert A. Rademacher were united in marriage June 23, 1953, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius by Fr. Wohlfert.
Laura Mae loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many hobbies, which included quilting, fishing, playing cards, and tending to her flower garden.
She was content being at the farm feeding the birds, and cooking and canning produce from her garden. Laura Mae also had many wonderful times at the cabin, and established great friendships there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; and parents, Anthony Sr. and Rosella Weinzierl.
Laura is survived by her loving family: son and daughter-in-law Gary and Mary Rademacher of Waconia; daughters and sons-in-law Barb and Arnold Samuelson of Cologne, Sandy and Steve Schwanke of Glencoe, and Cheryl and Michael Kelzer of Waconia; grandchildren Katie and Blair Mueller, Brian Rademacher and fiancée Chelsea Kovar, Kimberly and Tony Schultz, Kristine Rademacher and special friend Tyler Schultz, Ashley Samuelson, Lindsey Samuelson and special friend Trevor Spaude, Mitchell Kelzer and fiancée Abbi Braegelmann, and Marshall Kelzer.
She is further survived by great-grandchildren Lucy Mae Mueller, Madeline Mueller, Lauren Mueller, and Mackenzie Mueller; step-grandson Luke Meyer and his wife Stephanie; and step-great-grandchildren Grace and Jameson Meyer.
In addition, Laura is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Tony and Carol Weinzierl of St. Bonifacius, Jack and Marlene Weinzierl of St. Bonifacius, Jerry and Sue Weinzierl of Mayer, and Rich Weinzierl and special friend Raenn of St. Bonifacius; sisters and brothers-in-law Marlys and Don Jacques of Chaska, and Myrene and Frank Whittaker of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Annie Buesgens of Waconia, Arlene Engelen of Waconia, Agnes and Ed Kohman of Faribault; John Rademacher of Grand Rapids, Marvin and JoAnn Rademacher of Waconia, Tom and Annie Rademacher of Cologne, and Ronald and Rita Rademacher of Waconia; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius with Father Joseph-Quoc T. Vuong as celebrant of the Mass. Interment was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
There was visitation Wednesday, May 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continuing Thursday, one hour prior to the Mass.
Casket bearers were Brian Rademacher, Mitchell Kelzer, Marshall Kelzer, Roch Whittaker, Blair Mueller, and Tony Schultz.
Honorary casket bearers were Katie Mueller, Kimberly Schultz, Kristine Rademacher, Ashley Samuelson, and Lindsey Samuelson.
