Margaret Marie Terning Robertson, age 94, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Cokato and Montana, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Banner Baywood Hospital, Mesa, AZ, after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1921, at Florissant, MO, to Otto and Louise (Bender) Semke.
Margaret was baptized Sept. 4, 1921, at St. Johns Evangelical Church in St. Charles, MO.
The family moved to Cokato, in 1934, and Margaret was confirmed May 12, 1935, at Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She graduated from Cokato High School in June 1939.
Margaret was united in marriage to Howard Terning of Cokato Oct. 13, 1940, at the Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with five children: three daughters Marion, Karen, and Debra; and two sons Thomas and Richard.
In 1965, the family moved to Stevensville, MT; they also lived at Plains and Fortine, MO.
Howard died May 6, 1983.
Margaret was united in marriage to Aleck Robertson of Omak, WA Nov. 10, 1984, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. Al and Margaret resided at Kalispell, MT until 1994, when they moved to Apache Junction, AZ.
Aleck died May 18, 2001.
In addition to her husbands, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Louis Semke; brother Edward Semke; and daughter-in-law Connie Terning.
She is survived by her children: Marion (John) Bergstrom, Karen (Lloyd) Olson, Debra (Dan) Weiss, Thomas (Lois) Terning, and Richard Terning; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
