Earl D. Sandquist, age 92, of Minnetrista, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Westwood Place in Watertown.
He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Watertown, the son of Randolph and Alice (Nordstrom) Sandquist.
Earl served in the US Navy (motor machinist 2nd class), and served in the South Pacific during World War II.
Earl was united in marriage to Lois Marth Sept. 27, 1950, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Watertown Township.
Earl was employed at the Watertown Telephone Company for 20 years, worked at Advance Machine for 10 years, and ended his career at Kallestad Laboratories after 10 years.
He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins. Earl also loved to go to garage sales, and tinker in his garage.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; brothers Norman, Wallace and Cliff Sandquist; and a sister, Melrose Perman.
He is survived by his loving family: sons John (Joan) Sandquist, David (Mary) Sandquist, all of Minnetrista; grandchildren Andrew Sandquist, Ryan (Anna) Sandquist, Cara Sandquist, Deacon Timothy Sandquist, and Zachary Sandquist; great-grandchildren Layla, Lucille and Pearl Sandquist; a brother, Clyde Sandquist of Live Oak, FL; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service took place Thursday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Michalk officiating. There was a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
