Wallace H. Scheer, 89

Wallace “Bud” Herman Scheer, age 89, of Lester Prairie, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at The Golden Living Center in Wabasso.

He was born June 4, 1927, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the son of Herman and Katherine (Hausladen) Scheer.

Wallace was baptized June 19, 1927, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. A. Spleiss; instructed in the Lutheran catechism, and confirmed in the Christian faith April 6, 1941, at the same church by the Rev. E. Stahlke.

He engaged in farming for many years north of Lester Prairie.

Wallace enjoyed fishing, hunting, and also played the concertina and guitar.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.

Wallace is survived by nephews and nieces: Dennis (Margie) Heimerl of Plato, Doris Fritz, Darrel (Diane) Heimerl, all of Cologne; Duayne (Sue) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, David (Elly) Heimerl of Kimball, Danny (Becky) Heimerl of Lester Prairie, Donna (Jim) Malee of Garden Ridge, TX, Diane Onopa of Long Lake, Darlene (Dee) Heimerl of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Bonnie Lou Havenmeier of Cokato; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Katherine Scheer; a brother, Edwin Scheer; sisters Eleanor (Erland) Guetzkow, and Florence (Roman) Heimerl; and by a niece, Margie Haag.

Funeral services took place Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Interment followed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

There was visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.

Casket bearers were Dennis Heimerl, Doris Fritz, Darrel Heimerl, Duayne Heimerl, David Heimerl, and Danny Heimerl.
