Harvey A. Schultz Obituary – 4/6/2016


US Veteran Harvey A. Schultz, age 84, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at his home.

His funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 12 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church (5218 Bartlett Blvd), Mound, with the Rev. Mike Michalk officiating. There will be visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Harvey’s grandsons with be his casket bearers.

Harvey was born June 4, 1931, in Hector, the son of Walter and Olga (Sandgren) Schultz.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Paa March 21, 1953, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax.

Harvey loved spending time with his family, and had a wonderful connection with his pets Lexi, Simba, Sam and Shorty. He was always out trying to find “deals” at area garage sales.

Harvey thoroughly enjoyed going on Caribbean cruises, especially attending the dinners and dancing. He had a sweet tooth, ice cream being his favorite treat.

Harvey passed his time taking care of his flowers, and watching old comedies like “Hogan’s Heroes” and “Laurel and Hardy.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; grandson Luke Schultz; father and mother Walter and Olga Schultz; sister Jeanette Schultz; and twin brother Howard Schultz

Harvey is survived by his loving family: children and spouses Kathy Schultz of Watertown, Brad and Susan Schultz of Norwood Young America, Jeff and Karen Schultz, Julie Kirsch, all of Watertown, Steve Schultz and special friend Cindy of Rice, Linda and Dave Skochenski of Mayer, and Barb Leistiko of Watertown; friend of the family Greg Gibson of Watertown; grandchildren Rachel Schultz, Stephanie Schultz and fiancé Jason Hundley, Brad Jr. and Brenda Schultz, Katey Schultz and fiancé Isaiah Muller, Angela and Dale McCrea Jr., Matt and Chrissy Schultz, Karen and Chad Scott, Christian and Erin Schultz, Michael Schultz and special friend Amy, Emily Schultz and fiancé Todd Mayer, Jeff Jr. and Haley Schultz, Zach Schultz, Chris Gibson and special friend Jessy, Jaimie Kirsch and special friend Jay, Tiffany Kirsch and special friend Dalton, David Skochenski Jr., Amanda and Ryan Vail, Kayla and Jen Bogenrief, Kyle Skochenski, Nick Schultz, Tim Leistiko, Blake Reoh, Brandon Reoh; and 37 great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by a sister, Darlene (Clair) Knutson of Cambridge; brother Harland Schultz of Champlin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Pat and James Fahey of Fairfax, Kathy and Ken Adams of Bemidji, Carl and Elaine Paa, Harry and Karen Paa, Charles Paa and Judy, Ken and Deanna Paa, all of New Ulm, and Dennis Anderson of Gaylord; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
