Judith Caroline Snabb, of Litchfield, formerly of the Dassel and Cokato areas, passed away at the Emmanuel Home (Ecumen) of Litchfield Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.
Judy grew up in Cokato and Annandale, where she completed the ninth grade.
In 1960-62, Judy moved to California, where she worked in dry cleaning and as a nanny.
Judy moved back to Minnesota, and then married Ernest Donald (Donnie) Snabb Sept. 21, 1963, in Meeker County. The couple resided in the French Lake area, and raised four children.
Judy was a professional homemaker in the Dassel and Cokato areas until they moved to Litchfield. She cared for Donnie until his death April 24, 1997, and then continued to be a homemaker until her health wouldn’t let her anymore.
Judy enjoyed numerous activities like drawing, latch hook, gardening, outdoor and interior design and décor, sewing, and crafting. Most importantly, she enjoyed being “ma” and “grandma” every day.
She is survived by her sons, Todd, Thomas, and Jason Snabb, all of Litchfield; daughter Kristie Snabb of Litchfield; daughter-in-law Jackie Snabb of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Bailey, Mattea, and Adler Snabb; brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Mary Johnson of Kingston; brother-in-law David Pearson of Litchfield; brother-in-law Waldo Schacht of Annandale; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Donnie, Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Johnson; Donnie’s parents, Ernest and Stella Snabb; sisters Marion Myllykangas and Grace Fishbeck; and sister- in-law Betty Schacht.
A time of visitation took place Friday, Jan. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
