Rose M. Soshnik, age 71, of California, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, after a long illness, with her sister, Rita, and friends at her side.
Rose and her twin sister, Rita, were born Aug. 17, 1945, in Watertown, to Delite and William Soshnik.
Rosie graduated from Aitkin High School, St. Cloud State University, and Winona State University. She attained college degrees in English and speech, and also became a registered nurse.
During her long career as a nurse, Rosie also served in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan.
She had many human and wildlife friends, but her favorite friend of all was her cat, “Puff,” who was given to her by Lois Fossum and Karen Murray.
Rose’s happiest days were spent in Minnesota and southern California.
She is survived by her sisters, Rita, Joni, Sandi, and Maxine; and brother Dan.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved brother David.
Cremation took place in Los Angeles. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
