Denise Ann Stewart, age 53, of Eden Prairie, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, after a courageous four-year battle with gastric cancer.
Raised in Delano, Denise attended Mount Olive parochial school, and graduated from Delano High School, and St. Olaf College.
She worked for (Arthur) Anderson Consulting in Minneapolis from 1985 to 1991, and at Target Corporation headquarters in Minneapolis from 1991 until the birth of her first son.
A woman of faith, Denise enjoyed her Bible studies, as well as working out, baking, book club, volunteering, and getting together with friends. Her greatest love was being a mother to her children, who were her pride and joy.
Denise is survived by her husband of 24 years, Doug Stewart; children Ryan, Eryn, Kyle, Shay, Bryn and Cory; sister Debbie Marketon (Marvin); parents Jack and Renata Russek of Delano; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, David.
A memorial service took place Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, followed by interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Washburn McReavy - Eden Prairie Chapel; and continued Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
