Pamela Jo Strohschein, age 57, of Sun City West, AZ, formerly of Howard Lake, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ.
She was born Oct. 1, 1958, at the Cokato Hospital, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Hinz) Strohschein.
Pam was baptized Oct. 19, 1958, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, by the Rev. Gerhard Michael. She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith May 21, 1972, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Tempe, AZ, by the Rev. Martin Lunde.
Pam graduated with an Arizona High School Certificate of Equivalency July 1, 1977.
She was faithful to her church, and attended the Easter sunrise service March 27.
Pam was employed most of her life as a retail cashier in various locations.
She was diagnosed with cancer August 2015, followed by chemotherapy and radiation, and lost her fight, passing away due to liver failure and cancer.
Pam is survived by her parents of Sun City West, AZ; sisters Sandra and Bonita of Shelton, WA, and Jacalyn (Vance) Naaktgeboren of Flagstaff, AZ; a nephew, Jason (Camille) Naaktgeboren of San Angelo, TX; and three nieces, Alyson (Richard) Williams of Shelton, WA, Caron Naaktgeboren of St. Johns, Virgin Islands, and Stacy (Shane) Cogar of Denver, CO.
She is further survived by three great nieces, Terra Naaktgeboren of Las Vegas, NV, and Anakiah and Onyxnia Williams of Shelton, WA; her uncle Lester (Darlene) Strohschein of Howard Lake, aunt Mildred (James) Ryan of St. Paul; and cousins, Jody Strohschein of Howard Lake, and Denton (Janice) Strohschein and sons of St. Cloud.
Pam was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur (Martha) Strohschein, Sara (Walter) Teske, and James Ryan.
Private committal services took place April 30 at the Columbarium of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, AZ, with Pastor Phill Robbins as the officiant.
