Gladys E. Taylor, 87

Gladys Elaine Taylor, age 87, of Spring Park, formerly Lyndale, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at the Presbyterian Homes on Lake Minnetonka in Spring Park.

She was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Victoria, the daughter of Clarence and Lydia (Dummer) Splettstoeszer. Gladys was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.

She was united in marriage with Earl H. Taylor Sept. 10, 1949, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Mound.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Vernon Splettstoeszer, Wallace Splettstoeszer, Alice Lindner, and Bernice Leistiko.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Earl Taylor of Spring Park; daughter Sheila Swartzer of Crystal Bay; grandchildren Shannon (Sara) Motzko, Joshua (Noelle) Taylor, Matthew Swartzer, and Kaylee Swartzer; great-grandchildren Gavin Motzko, Katelin Motzko, Preston Taylor, Levi Taylor, and Camden Murphy; sister Delores Sklochenski of Spring Park; brother Clarence Splettstoeszer of Hamel; sisters-in-law Doris Splettstoeszer of Watertown, and Adeline Pawelk of Hutchinson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The funeral service took place Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Mound, with the Rev. Mike Michalk as officiant. The was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.

Serving as casket bearers were Shannon Motzko, Joshua Taylor, Matthew Swartzer, Kaylee Swartzer, Mark Segner, and Melvin Kirchenwitz.
