Margaret Thiemann, 85

Margaret Mary (Marketon) Thiemann, age 85, of Winsted, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016.

She was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Middleville Township, Howard Lake, Wright County; the daughter of Thomas Marketon and Agnes (Baldy) Marketon.

Margaret was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.

She went eight years to Meister Country School, and graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1949.

Margaret did various jobs until she met Jerome Thiemann. She waited for Jerome while he served his country in the Korean War.

They were married Oct. 6, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Jerome Thiemann; four sons and a daughter: Vernon (Connie) Thiemann, Milan (Missy) Thiemann, Curtis (Kim) Thiemann, all of Winsted, Shelly (Darrell) Pool of Delano, and John (Shelly) Thiemann of Covington, GA; Lynne (Mark) Garbers of Silver Lake; and 12 grandchildren: Jason (Joslin) Thiemann, Brandon (Jillian) Thiemann, Aaron (Kelsey) Thiemann, Matthew Thiemann, Shawn (Brittany) Thiemann, Stephanie Thiemann and Scott Thiemann, Laura (Steve) Fay, Thomas Pool and Michael Pool, and Blake Thiemann and Dana Thiemann.

She is further survived by two sisters: Helen (Bob) Baumann and Rosie Milewski; brothers Walter (Jackie) Marketon, Arthur (Jolene) Marketon, and Lewis Marketon; a sister-in-law, Marion Remer; and many other relatives and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her oldest son, Richard Thiemann; her parents, Thomas and Agnes Marketon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Lucy Thiemann; a sister, Martha Clark; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Florence Marketon; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arlene and Donald Stotts.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Urn bearer was Jason Thiemann.

There was visitation Tuesday, Jan. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a rosary recited at 3:45 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued Wednesday at the church from 9 to 10 a.m.
