Gerald L. Yantes, age 79, of Princeton, formerly of Delano, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Big Lake, to Arthur and Henrietta “Hank” (Motzko) Yantes.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved nature and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Daryl.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; son Patrick (Mary) Yantes; daughters Julie Yantes, Nicole (Dean) Guennigsmann, Jamie (Jesse) Kral, and Danielle Yantes; grandchildren Sammi Yantes, Preston and Landon Kral, and Easton and Deklan Guennigsmann; and brothers DeWayne (Helen), Dale (Pam), and Bryan (friend Linda).
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.
There was a gathering of family and friends Friday, Jan. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church; and the gathering continued Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Martha’s Hall, prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
